Confession no. 5

Reduce -> Re-use -> Recycle // Clothing Edition If you're like me, the idea of getting rid of any type of clothing article may seem slightly scary, or even like a chore you don't want to do. As much as I hate to admit it, I'm totally a clothing hoarder. I will hold onto a shirt I've worn once because "I may need it again"... even if the thought of that top makes me cringe. Lets dive in and hopefully upon reading, you'll be able to open your mind up a little more to all things thrifty. The worst part about hoarding? Well, I'd like to say its because my closet is on its lest leg and the rack is literally about to bend in the middle.... I'm not kidding guys. But on a serious note, hoarding clothes is a bad idea for many reasons! Not only are you in possession of clothes someone else could be wearing, but you're hurting the earth . If you don't care about your home (planet earth) then you should hop on the trend, because its tot...

Confession no. 3

How to Thrift Game Day Attire

Game day is no joke, especially when it comes to NFL. Maybe you're new to your university and don't have any game day attire, or new to DUUUUVAL and haven't purchased any Jaguar gear yet... don't worry, thrift stores almost always have ya covered.

Game days in a university atmosphere can be extremely overwhelming, whether you want to impress your sorority sisters and have the 'trendiest outfit', you want to impress Chad from Sigma Apple Pie or you just want to look and feel good while tailgating. It almost feels like you have to wear a new outfit to each game, whether it be a NFL or a college game, it feels wrong to show up in the same gear from last weeks game. Instead of spending a large sum of money on an outfit you'll wear once or twice.. shop with purpose and sense! The amount of jaguar print/ Jaguar branded attire i've seen each time i've been shopping is extreme, but I can't complain.

My first tip to you is to always shop in mens for T-shirts. The fit is incredible, much looser and not as straight down, which can often make you feel boxy. Oversized T shirts are totally in style right now- wear the tee with a pair of Nike Air Force platform shoes or a pair of Doc Martens and you're bound to look bangin. Don't like the oversized look? I got ya covered.. wait, that was ironic. Cut your tee into a crop top and pair it with some high waisted denim jeans.
Top $4 (cut), Bag $12, Scrunchie $3
High Waisted Pacsun Jeans $10, Furry belt $4

Every item in the pictures were thrifted, at different times of course, but I absolutely lucked out. I don't really care or usually have a preference when it comes to name brands for clothing, but if I happen to find something that is name brand and I can snag it for much less, I get pumped. Back to the outfits, theres nothing better than feeling good in your skin and looking cute while doing it. Take pride in your thrifted outfit that you styled- you look incredible, girl.

My next tip to you is to not be afraid to shop shoes in thrift stores. Depending on the style of shoe and condition, you can find some priceless items in store. With the trends changing so often, you don't want to spend over $25 on a pair of nukes, sandals, heels or even sneakers at times. Unless you're purchasing a pair of running shoes, high top Vans, Doc Martens or Nike platforms.. try to thrift  for shoe wear. You'd be surprised with what people give away upon purchasing ;)

A lot of outfits can be universal, meaning you could wear the tops or bottoms for other purposes than just game day. Jeans are always universal, and tops that have the pattern of your mascot or solid colored body suits/ cami crops are always able to be worn on other occasions. Don't restrict yourself to just printed tee shirts, expand your horizons. Going out of your comfort zone will surprisingly make you more comfortable and confident, ironic isn't it?

Bodysuit $4, Purse- Priceless

While we're on the subject, lets talk animal prints. Snakeskin, leopard/jaguar/cheetah, zebra stripes- they're all in style. Putting together outfits with a print is just so much more fun and adds a pop. Whether it be shoes, a scrunchie, a top, bottoms, belt or even a jacket/blazer... it will change the vibe of your whole outfit. You can even cross patterns if you're feeling creative. Don't ever worry about what people will think of your style sis, it's all in how you feel. I mean, you're practically already breaking the "no brown with black" rule by wearing leopard/cheetah print... just saying.

That's all I have to say today, as I'm still mourning the loss of the Jaguars (kidding..maybe)

Till next time babes,

Ray<3
